The tour might include:

Day 1 EDINBURGH

The Scottish Parliament.  Introduction to the political structure and background to Devolution in Scotland.  Depending on the level of interest, it may be possible to arrange a meeting with appropriate Members and Ministers.

The Scottish Executive.  The Executive was established in 1999, following the first elections to the Scottish Parliament. The Executive is led by a First Minister who is nominated by the Parliament and in turn appoints the other Scottish Ministers who make up the Cabinet.  Executive civil servants are accountable to Scottish Ministers, who are themselves accountable to the Scottish Parliament.

If time permits, there would be a short tour of Edinburgh’s historic Old Town and castle.

Day 2 GLASGOW

Economic Development Agency.   Scottish businesses receive practical and varying levels of financial assistance to develop a strong presence in the global economy - building on Scotland's reputation as a great place to live, work and do business.

A city university.  With strong links to business and industry at a national and international level, the universities give a high priority to collaborative research.

A business example. Visit a company working in partnership with the public sector and academia. And if time permits, view the economic re-generation projects along the River Clyde.
